The Karen Buddhist Dhamma Dhutta Foundation has purchased a house to
use as a monastery and community centre.

We had been using a rented house as our monastery and community
centre, but this
had not been adequate. The monastery is:
- A community centre for Karen Christians, Karen Buddhists, and
Australian Buddhists
- A place where Buddhists practise their religion
- A residence for monks and nuns
- A place where newly arrived Karen refugees stay when they first
arrive in Bendigo
As several refugee families are arriving at the end of the year,
finding a larger monastery had been a priority. Apart from the cost
of purchasing the house, we are fundraising to make improvements and
convert the garage into a prayer hall. We are grateful for any
